Cocker Spaniel dies of lung cancer

My best buddy Tanner

My best buddy Tanner

My best buddy named Tanner died of lung cancer on April 30, 2010. When many of my friends found out they asked me if I used fronline on him. I said yes since he was old enough to be on it. He was only 5 when he died. I have been looking on the web since then to see if anything stated anything about lung cancer from frontline. I was wondering if anybody else who lost there best buddy from cancer used that product. My vet said they have no idea how he got it. If anybody has any information please e-mail me at deedee4262@yahoo.com it would help me come to peace with losing my dog. I still cry over losing him and I do not know how to get over this tragic loss in my life.

Thank You,
Dolores Mendenhall

So sad
by: Anonymous

We lost our 4 year old Sprocker,Teal 2 days ago. I am heart broken and the children distraught. The vets think it maybe cancer of the lungs but are sending off swabs to be certain. The worrying thing is that our nextdoor neighbours dog has had the same symptoms. We do use Front line as I was unaware of any scare. I was also concerned it maybe chemicals used on crops around our home... Does anyone have any ideas??? Feeling empty.

Look into this

Look into feeding your cancerous pets or bathing your pets in 35% FOOD GRADE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE solution. Read about its benefits to humans in eradicating many cancers by oxygenating the cells. Make this a problem solving, answer based forum. Cancer in anyone sucks especially helpless animals. Farmers use it in their livestock with success.

My cocker Mindy Moo Poo is dying of lung cancer:(
by: Alyssa Jayne

My soul is broken, bam just like that she started with tremors, I live in a small town. Not disputing vets no less, but I feel they are not giving more options. Prednisone that's it!! The vet told me it will help with her pain and calm her, bull crap! Sent her home to die. Listen my animals, the worlds animals r my life my soul my purpose, something is just not sitting right. I'm laying with her all day all nite suffering. The vet can give Mindy something to ease her, correct?! I'm not giving up, my prayers, all our hopes....plz let me know am I right?! Second opinion I'm thinking and I'm on talking with our Vet today and she is giving me more treatment options. I don't care if she is threatened by my knowledge of this. Am I wrong??!! My heart is breaking apart, my eyes are swollen from tearing so much. Strength is my prayer for tonight. XxOo

My Darling English Cocker - ISABEL HO
by: Anonymous

Dear God,
!0yrs ago you gave my family a wonderful companion in the form of an English Cocker.
We named her Isabel and she has been a gem of a pet eversince.
Always to adorable and loving the family so much with her warmth embraces and wet kisses.
I remember the day when me and my wife first got her.
She was hardly the size of my palm.
As she ate and grew , we realised that she wasn't going to be fit into the current doggy bed we had bought for her and hence we changed it into a full size plastic kennel.

God,
Recently our vet did an XRay and found that she had multiple growths inside her and he diagnosed this as cancer.

God,
You who are able to solve all issues and create miracles.
I just ask for your miraculous touch to come upon Isabel and I ask for a miraculous healing to come upon her.

God,
Though I am pretty distraught and upset whenever I see her coughing and gagging away, I submit my darling Isabel into your hands God and I pray that God, You will do for her what You know best.

Amen.

Cocker Spaniels with Cancer
by: Anonymous

I am so sorry for each of you who lost your beloved pets. I found this website quite by accident as I was searching for answers to the sad news given to me by my vet this morning. Our beautiful black cocker spaniel that is just over 11 yrs. old quite suddenly got sick over the weekend and after blood work, x-rays and and IV for 24 hrs. I was told he had congestive heart disease. I have just learned today though that he probably has a cancer tumor in his chest and another in his brain. He will have another x-ray tomorrow but the prognosis doesn't sound good and he refuses to eat. He's never had Frontline on him and no one in our home smokes. I am in total shock and don't know how I will break the news to our daughter this evening. This is her dogs and she grew up with him. All we can do is love him and make him as confortable as possible. Cancer is such a devistating word you hear everyday, but when it is attached to someone you love dearly there are no words to express the sorrow.

Brisbane Carpets

I just read Brisbane Carpets response.....smh....my client was a militant non smoker and no one smoked in his house, car or anywhere else around this wonderful doggie....cigarette smoke had NOTHING to do with killing her but I felt strongly then and stronger now ...that spot on flea treatment was the cause
...a precautionary tale for anyone thinking that spot on flea treatments are worth the risk.

Frontline and lung cancer in dogs
by: Anonymous

Wish I had seen this sooner.
I had a client who used Frontline on his doggie. She responded poorly when he applied it acting very nervous and upset. I begged him to stop using it on her and he did.
Within 18 months she was dx'd with lung cancer and died.

Cocker Spaniel Lung Cancer
by: John

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Just 2 days ago I had to put my Cocker Spaniel Baby Midge down. Several days earlier she had started breathing heavily and panting. She had trouble eating and drinking. I took her to the vet who took an xray of her chest and her lungs showed up being taken over by cancer. I had gotten her from a rescue about 6 years earlier. She was about 5-6 years old at that time. She had been a breeding dog that had not been taken care of. Once I got her I noticed that her mamary glands had tumors and there was also a couple of lumps on her chest. I had them all removed. The next year she had several more removed. I am certain that it was a combination of genetics and the lack of care in her early life. She was just the sweetest girl ever. I tried my best to make her new life as wonderful as possible. It was so sad to see her go to sleep for the final time. I am waiting for the vet office to call to pick up her ashes and urn. She will be greatly missed.

Tanner
by: Beverly

Dear Delores, I can truly say I know exactly how you feel about the loss of your beloved Tanner as I lost my cocker Tootie last February of bladder cancer. For 3 days I couldn't eat or sleep and just cried. My heart, arms and home were so empty. On the 4th day I spent 8 straight hours on the internet searching for another baby, I found Babycakeshepard at a rescue center, 2year old black cocker, adopted her 2/22/2011. Today I found a growth on her mouth, took to vet & she is having surgery tomorrow to see if the tumor iis cancerous. She never replace Tootie and never wil but did fill my heart arms and home. Even though I am scared and frantic I don't regret adopting her and will support her through whatever she has in her future. If you haven't got another baby yet, trust me it will help. Please say a small prayer for Babycakes. I hope your hurt has eased and that I was able to help in someway. Beverly

radon?
by: Anonymous

I am soo sorry about your doggie! I just lost my cat less than 2 months ago. Tarzan was my pride and joy..my everything...my first born! He was only 11 1/2 years old and he had lung cancer and died. I have been researching this constantly! I have had my house checked for radon, because we didn't smoke and I am sure you didn't either! Everyone knows smoke causes lung cancer in smokers. The #1 cause of non smoker lung cancer is radon! We live in Chicago and our levels are high in our neighborhood! I am awaiting the test results as we speak! Check the toxins in your home! We even got rid of our Orkin service (just in case!) I also bought house plants and a real x-mas tree. Toxins are in everyones home, but RADON is trapped in our longs and doesn't come out. The lungs trap it! You can research it too on line! That's what I did! I hope this helps! May God heal both our hearts! We will see them again someday....Rainbow Bridge!!!!!

Cocker Spaniel dies of lung cancer
by: Brisbane carpet

I just happened to come across your blog and I like to extend my shall I say condolences to your dog. I've a few research why your dog has died with lung cancer and based on the reasons that I've found are cigarette smoking related issues and secondhand smoke in homes, vehicles, workplaces, and public places.
